Build a Professional Mentality

Indeed, Indonesia has the potential to also export the labor-professional manpower to foreign countries in various classes: petroleum, mining, forestry, literature, art, and others.

For two of the above required a big effort: develop a professional mentality.

  • Quality mentality

A professional showing the best performance possible. Deliberately he will not show the second best (less than the best) because it knows that action is in fact a suicide profession. A professional work itself is always in the best tip (cutting edge) area of expertise. He did it because the essence of the profession wanted to achieve a real perfection, penetrates the limits of the practical impossibility, to quench the thirst of man would be ideal quality: strength, beauty, justice, kindness, usefulness.

Clearly, professionalism is not synonymous with higher education. Foremost is the basic attitude or mentality. Then a stone carver at the corners of Bali for example, although not graduated from high school, but able to carve out with all my heart to produce a work of carving the finest and best, is actually a professional. An elementary school teacher in Papua hicks who teach with dedication for the intelligence of all pupils is a professional.

On the other hand, a doctor who handles his patients with a hurry because the patient is not pursuing a professional quota. Similarly, a professor who teaches at random, examine the origin so, foster students too much to sacrifice quality, not a professional. Or, an engineer who intentionally reduced doses of building materials for the sake of greater profits is not a professional.

So first mentality is a professional high standard of work which is oriented around the ideal perfection of quality.

Media Dilemma Between Idealism & Business Interests

By , January 13, 2011

The choice between business interests and the interests of balanced reporting has been the subject of great debate. Recently I read a freelance writer, freelance writer, who felt satisfied because they do not join any media. He felt that by being like that is free from any business interests and could give birth to their idealism.

This attitude is true, but containing the shortage. It is true that idealism can be realized as a freelancer. It is true that he did not co-opted by business interests of media owners. It is true that he was free to choose the stance on issues.

The weakness of this stance is that private owners despite the big media is run professionally. It poses a number of senior journalists loyal to the attitude of professionalism. In this big media can learn how the dilemma between idealism and business interests is run.

There is no 100 percent private media company let alone a government free from interference by the owner. The owners or shareholders-such a department – will not let the mass media to undermine his importance.

But with many professional journalists in the media and also the interest of the readers and other stakeholders as a whole then intervention may still be limited. The struggle between idealism a practical interests of media owners will go on. This is where the attitude of professionalism in the media play a role. They must provide the intellectual arguments to prevent interference haphazardly business owner’s interests.

3 Steps to Feed Your Brain Ideas

By , December 20, 2010

The ideas are generated by the fusion of views, experiences, knowledge, images to funny jokes. But as much experience and knowledge, the greater the likelihood of fusion.

In this merger, something new emerges, which is the start of something innovative. But for that to happen, there must be material to merge, just a few atoms create chemical reactions. Little knowledge and ideas, very creative.

1. Read, read, read

“Discovering the warm water? Not really. Reading is a vital source of knowledge etc etc etc. But this is not a class on how to raise your children II. One of the keys to generate ideas is to read a lot, but not a topic in depth, but otherwise generally known. Stay aware of different areas, yoga, cooking, activities, travel, tantra.

General knowledge magazines like Reader’s Digest, yahoo.com, (lots of examples) are ideal. The idea is that with this large amount of general knowledge, ideas cause crashes completely different fields (eg, yoga, travel), and you have a website, content on sites and centers specializing in yoga.

The application of knowledge from one area to another is one of the most successful sources of innovation.

2. Travel and experience other cultures

Based on the art of displacement. Travel, see other models, ways of living and business. And this does not mean leaving the country. The region has never visited, to 2-3 hours of your home can be a source of perfect ideas.

New landscapes, sounds, tastes, textures, shapes, everything is food for creativity. Just visit sites that have never met. Not have to go to China to be creative. Even in your own town. Read more »
